Framing the Interior Walls in the Lower Level
We’re making progress now. Real, visible progress. Dave Edwards’ team started framing the interior walls in the lower level.
Framing Overview
The non-structural walls in the lower level are being framed with 2×4 and 2×6 studs that are 24 inches on center. In addition, we will have two-stud corners and utilize other framing efficiencies.
We started framing the lower level by framing the perimeter walls. Then, we framed the interior walls around the Laundry Room, West Mechanical Room, and Nik’s bathroom.
Displacement Air Ventilation - Integrated Design Session
Given our framing is getting starting in the lower level, Ken Martin of Silicon Valley Mechanical came over with his notebook PC to work though the details on the duct routing and diffuser locations in the lower level and ground floor. It was much easier to work through the placement by walking to the locations on each floor to understand the obstacles and make decisions.
We need to establish the duct and floor diffuser sizes and locations so the framing can accommodate these elements. Ken will ensure this happens.
Visitors
Jo-Anne’s parents, John and Dode Sinclair, made a surprise visit to the job site this afternoon. They were close so decided to drop in. The timing worked so Bryan was able to give them a complete tour of the site.

The wooden walkway is looking great. The recycling and garbage are convenient on the wooden walkway.
